Re: Creatine for PWO shake?

The description seems to satisfy both conditions:

"99.9 percent pure Creapure brand creatine monohydrate"

It's dirt-cheap too. $16 for 120 servings. Is that a red flag?

Re: Starting Strength/StrongLifts rip-off

I'd like to fish out one point from my reply to Dub. Is squat better learned with weight as opposed to a naked BB? Maybe waiting to progress is counter-productive here.. I'm trying to follow all the cues: thumbless grip as narrow as possible, shoulders tucked, feet wider than shoulder width, toes po...

Re: Starting Strength/StrongLifts rip-off

Dub, 1. Seldomly training? three times a week full-body IS NOT seldom. It's quite intense in my books. I work at this moment a body part 1-2 times a week. You work every body part three times a week. That's not seldom. 2. Besides, you'll learn quite quickly, light weight block with you won't most li...

Creatine for PWO shake?

Is it a common practice among members here? That would mean I am taking 5g 3-4 times a week. Would you just buy the one that is produced by your brand of whey/casein? I have been using Optimum Nutrition whey and casein without side effects (gas, rashes, or what not). Their creatine happens to be wel...

Re: Starting Strength/StrongLifts rip-off

I have been practicing and benching feels SO different now! Thanks for all the pointers everybody! I'm still on a ABCX split (chest/back--legs--arms/delts/core). That will end soon as I mentioned in the OP. Few concerns I have: 1. Will these 6 exercises do anything for hypertrophy or is it strength ...

Re: Starting Strength/StrongLifts rip-off

As far as setting up a tripod to record yourself, how about a low-tech solution to charting your bar path? Chalk the bar up, and go through your reps. If you look in the mirror and see one singular, consistent line of chalk on your shirt, you know you're doing KPj and JungleDoc proud (I'd consider ...

Re: Weighted hanging straight-leg raises

Ankle weights will work. I've done then it that way. A weight belt works too. A weight at the hips is less leverage that one at the ankles so it will feel different and likely require more weight to get the same effect. You may need a weight belt for dips and chin ups at some point, but I wouldn't ...

Re: Starting Strength/StrongLifts rip-off

This is pure gold KPj. Perfectly clear. I just tried following your advice and concentrated on basic cues only. MUCH easier to arch when you don't have another 20 things on your mind. The grip width I'm struggling with. I used to keep my index fingers in the quarter inch grooves on my BB (32" apart ...

Re: Raw broccoli instead of spinach?

Heat it up as in a microwave? Fresh ingredients and just nuke it? I actually have like 10 different salad places near work. For now, I find them quite delicious to eat uncooked. Dress them with lemon, olive oil, and balsamic. Double portion of protein. Biggest disadvantage is that it's a pricey habi...

Weighted hanging straight-leg raises

I love this AB variation. Bought ankle weights from amazon to add resistance. Now I read this article and the guy basically says that I'm supposed to use a dipping belt. That does not make intuitive sense to me. Wouldn't that be pulling my torso down? Did I waste my money and need to shell out for a...

Re: Starting Strength/StrongLifts rip-off

1. In this position, "no MA" would become "MA" and the "MA" towards the belly would become "no MA" - does that make sense?? So, whilst I think it's a great basic recommendation, I want to also point out that different lifters have different set ups and differing ability (or desire) to create an arc...

Re: Brachioradialis pain

I had pain in the same area to the point of my whole elbow hurting really badly. Any overhand pulling made it alot worse and underhand curls, pulldowns, rows didnt hurt that much. The curls actually made the pain go away. I took 2 weeks of rest and started doing high-rep arm work(3-5x20) and its cu...

Re: Raw broccoli instead of spinach?

mate you've got to EAT big to GET big! Absolutely! I definitely plan to increase intake when I clean up form on main lifts. I'm at learning intensity even on lifts where I can go heavier. If I eat like you at this intensity, the ROM on by bench will be about 5 inches :) (unless my arms lengthen) Be...
