Re: Have to change my Training...

Thank you very much for answering! I just had the first measuring last October and it is planned to measure again after a year (oct. 2016). The diameter is 44mm at that point (the norm would be 25-35mm) and afaik when reaching 50 to 55mm there would be the indication for a surgical repair. So they w...

Re: Have to change my Training...

Thanks Stuward! As far as I understand the issue (english is not my first language so excuse me if I use the wrong terms) the problem would be mainly high bloodpressure. Heartrate and bloodpressure usually go in the same direction, but I was told that you can`t say "when your heart rate is x your bl...

Have to change my Training...

I really don`t know how to start this, so I will jump straight in... I was diagnosed with an "aneurysmal thoracic aorta" (i should say I had luck it was discovered early, but really, it doesn`t feel like it ;) ). Until they take a second look at later this year it I was advised not to do (intensive)...

Re: Comments on my lifting regime + form

I`d rather advise to pick an existing program than trying to do your own programming. "Canditos Linear Program" an Upper/Lower-Split with three possible templates to use (one of them being Strength/Power where you can focus on explosive movements) or 5/3/1 would be better choices than what you wrot...

Re: Palms forward lateral side raise?

I would guess there is (much) more involvement of the front delt... can you do more/use more weight with these compared to the following? http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/DeltoidLateral/DBLateralRaise.html I was taught, you really isolate the lateral delts when doing the above version: upper body...

Re: Weightlifting stunting growth

Thanks for the response. Can you provide some clarification on what reasonable weight training and "lifting more weights than you are prepared for" means? I'm aiming to achieve at least a 140kg squat before I advance to a different program. Is that an unreasonable weight? Like Stuward already state...

Re: Pecs

Could be your technique... a video would probably help or you could check your technique with a coach at your gym? Where does your back ache? (lower back?) Do you have an idea why? (too big arch?) Did you get it checked by a professional? There are several excercises for the chest... just look at th...

Re: Upper/Lower Split for Strength and Size

You really finished the (very) first week of 5/3/1? And are already "fried" from doing three sets of deadlifts (that are ramped)? Than I would recommend starting with a more realistic Training Max and do the program as written. Unless you took an unrealistic 1RM there is really no way the three work...

Re: Feedback for Workout Appreciated!

I`m not an expert for diet, I`d rather not go too much into details and leave that to the other members... Do you track what you eat at the moment? This would be helpful to determine your caloric intake to be able to track your progression together with your bodyweight and with some measurements of ...

...bench press about 90#... Just to be sure: the numbers are in lbs.? How are your calc. 1RM for Squats and Deadlifts? ...Reflecting on what I've done, I know I'm very much a noob at this... Instead of doing your Split-Plan I would advise to pick a proven programme. Something rather simple like Gre...

...However, it not an effective method for weight loss. Even in the context of someone being in a caloric deficit who is also doing weight training, say 3 times a week? So what do you think is the most important part for fat loss when someone also wants to keep muscle mass (or even build a bit as a...

Re: tabata for HIIT ?

To put it differently... It doesn`t matter if Tabata burns more calories than LISS-Cardio (Low Intensity Steady State), when you can`t do enough Tabata to really burn more calories in the long run. It seems much easier to walk an hour each day for example or ride a bike. For some people it is a bett...
