Re: Beginner wanting to get big! Feedback respectfully reque

If you like to train more than 3x/week a 2-day-split is fine, but I would rather recommend an upper/lower-split compared to push/pull or torso/arms and legs as long as you train two days in a row. And it wouldn`t be a problem to do prehab-stuff or one or two isolation excercises for biceps/triceps, ...

Re: Beginner wanting to get big! Feedback respectfully reque

@ cliftonmueller You are "majoring in the minors" (to quote Wendler)... Using the "torso/legs and arms" split is appropiate, using light and heavy days now aren`t. (and you are doing many excercises for my liking) Worrying too much about firing muscles right now is too much either (right now). stuwa...

Re: In Season Lacrosse Player

So this would be 7 - 8 exercises... Seems to be much for inseason training... I would cut it to the basics just to keep your strength during the season... Try to train fairly heavy (low volume) on the compound lifts and the other stuff with high repetitions (low intensity, higher volume) Provided yo...

Re: What weight did your grip first fail (deadlift)

...What kind of weights were you guys pulling before your grip first failed? And for those of you who started out doing over/over, what weight were you forced to switch? Right now I can pull about 160kg. To give you some relief ;) I first started to use a mixed grip at 80kg work sets (overhand grip...

lol... you are just a troll, excore... Not totally clueless but being half-informed and drawing and promoting the wrong conclusions, which is even worse... You stated: ... So why on earth would anyone be dumb enough to train midbody statically when discs are your most vulnurable place in your body. ...

Re: westside routine questions

So you trained mostly (exclusively?) in the 8-12 rep-range? No wonder you got problems "just jumping into" westside... You could also just change your set/rep scheme without really doing "another program". Like doing 3x8 and when you can`t put more weight on the bar change to 5x5, then 5x3 and back ...

Would you tell us your age, height and weight and your (calc.) 1RM in Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press and Press?

And perhaps a bit about your training until now? It would help to recommend an alternative...

Re: Best back exercise in my opinion.

In your exercise example hamstrings and glutes are main movers. Back doesnt move weight and only acts as stabilizators. Edit: uploaded video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxCvAmpsErw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Essentially a "partial SLDL" as per definition from Lyle McDonald.....

Re: Full body workout(s) for home gym with limited equipment

I guess simply listing some excercises isn`t enough or very helpful, considering you already got 10 years of experience? BTW... whats your height, weight and your calculated 1RM? What is your training-history? Did you follow some known programms? Did you like a programme? You could do something simp...

Re: [Question] Barbell Decline Bench Press

In the description they use a "wide oblique overhand grip". In order to keep the elbows strictly vertical under the barbell, the barbell touches the chest higher than with a closer grip. So I guess thats where the confusion comes from... but it could also be a typo... ;)

Re: Sumo-Deadlifts or conventional Deadlifts?

Tried Sumo-DL the second time ever... pulled 130kg which is 7.5kg more than my best conventional DL without training the lift at all... I guess I have another excercise in my "toolbox"... Edit: I also tried your suggestion to practise good technique with singles around 85% from my calculated 1...

Re: Overtraining the Deltoid, Anterior?

The Dips and Upright Rows aren`t really needed, when you want to have a vertical and a horizontal push and pull (they count as "vertical" here). Without knowing all the other training variables (intensity, volume and frequency) and knowing nothing about you (age, height, weight, training experience,...
