Re: Bigger lats useless in powerlifting?

All powerlifters train back heavy and they do have injuries but it's allmost always due to rotators. I don't consider protracted shoulder girdle that common, but it can be apply to them sure. It could be different in other movement but in bench press I doubt it really effects anything. Once your sca...

Re: food vs synthetic

Yeah I'm actually eating can of sardines per day, it has 5ug d-vitamin and it has low mercury too. Good amount of omegas though most likely not enough for hardcore athlethe. Fishoil is synthetic but not like pills. Maybe drinking bit of it is not that bad. If someone can suggest other good d-vitamin...

food vs synthetic

Question for people who take pills: Could you eat safely everyday: 140 protein of whey+Rice/pasta for energy/fibers and loads of pills for minerals/fats/vitamins? This would be actually extremely cheap. It would cost you like 2 bucks/day and you get all your nutritions. Now if we forget about taste ...

Re: Bigger lats useless in powerlifting?

I didn't mention erectors because they play huge part in squatting/deadlifting. Erectors are target muscles that moves weight. Notice that when you're in squat position your back is not completely in vertical position. You need erector muscles to put you back into vertical. This site actually has it...

Re: Best lat excercise in my opinion

They're strongest at transverse extension yes but they play very strong part in extension. I can't do very wide grip because it messes up my shoulders with heavy weights but medium range where you do chinups or even closer range with v-bar it's very posterior delt dominant. If you do it wide or behi...

Re: Bigger lats useless in powerlifting?

I was talking more as theory than reality wise. In reality all powerlifters to auxiliry work. They trains abs, calves, hamstrings, back etc.. Most don't also seem to care much about their weight/diet which is reason you see them with big belly most of time. I don't care about old methods/rituals, I car...

Re: Best lat excercise in my opinion

It's actually close to bench press. The wider your grip is the more it takes on your chest but even with wider stance it's still very heavy for triceps eather way. If you reduce it to shoulder width it comes actually very triceps dominant. Same thing with pulling. It's your rear delts that is doing ...

Best lat excercise in my opinion

You cant really isolate lats because its compound. Here is problem I noticed: Your rear delts will always go failure first. Once 1 muscle goes to failure rest will automatically shut down. So you cant train them in full potential. Your wrist are not problem and if they are you can use straps. Your b...

Bigger lats useless in powerlifting?

Is it total myth that bigger lats=more profit for bench? Lets make example where 2 140lbs guys compete in bench press. If other one is stronger in some pulling movement would he bench more at same weight class? I think not. Actually its opposite. Person who has after 5 years training more muscle mas...

Re: Should I stop deadlift+squat (constant lowback strain pa

Ok well I guess it's nothing then. If it's not hurting and it's working and massage is helping then I will continue with it. I Just turned 30 years but I've been doing powerlifting (3lifts) like 6 months. Considered 638lbs is raw record in my weight class I still have lot to aim for. Thing is that I...

Should I stop deadlift+squat (constant lowback strain pain)

I have been doing bodybuilding type routine 2 years. I did cable row and normally on that excercise I don't use my low back at all and kept it still while my hands and scapula was doing all work. Well year ago one day I had 220 lbs and on my last rep as reflex I assisted with lower back. Now there's...
