Herschel Walker , prior to becoming a pro football player, supposedly shunned weight training in favor of bodyweight exercises. That is EXACTLY who I was thinking of. But I also heard other people saying he was a genetic freak and that's how he was able to get as strong as he did on bodywieght exce...

body weight exercises

Out of curiosity, what's a good place to read up on different types of body weight exercises, and how to setup a full body workout with them?

Well, it's been almost a month... (Forearm pain revisited.)

I stopped getting gains and got pain in my forearms so I dropped weight training altogether for a week. When I started again I had a whole new routine AND started keeping a log to track my progress and make sure I stuck to it. Well I'm entering my third week with my new routine. Just a few minutes a...

I'm an ag guy so I may be a little biased. In all my animal science classes, we learned that there is no way that animal hormones can affect humans, at least via through ingestion. The same people that laugh at others for eating rocky mountain oysters for a "testosterone boost" are the same ones sc...

Well, I've discovered I've got way to many excercises. I'm going to break each of them in half and do it 6 days a week. I'll be updating the journal soon.

Sliver's Online Journal

Well. I scrapped my old routine. Too much to keep track of and too many difference excercises. I didn't have the time to do them all and I kindof burned out. Heres the new routine. Monday: Bench Press Chinup Tuesday: Supine Row Barbell Deadlift Wednesday: Barbell Full Squat Barbell Standing Leg Calf...

Routine verson 2.0

Well the week is up, I'll be starting my training again tomorrow. Here's my routine. I'm thinking I'll vary the intensities like this. light(2/8-12) medium(3/6-8) heavy(4/4-6) And vary by each exercise instead of by week or day. I've put a symbol by the order in which they will be done, and use a lo...

I don't want to turn into some sugar hating hippie vegan, I just want to cut out the worst of it and see what happens. Thing is, the info I'm looking for is in all the wrong sites. Pills that will get rid of or prevent gyno are on bodybuilding sites for guys that take steriods. Stuff on xenoestrogen...

Found article of some interest (to those with male breasts) Strangley it's on a website about breasts cancer/cysts. However, it does explain about some sources of xenoestrogens AND ways to avoid coming in contact with them.

It's damn near impossible. :(

I've got a treadmill sitting around gathering dust, might as well put it to good use. I'm thinking light will be a 100 yard walk with the most weight I can cary. Medium will be 50 yards, heavy will be 25.

Farmer Walks

I stumbled onto this exercise browsing other weight training sites. I think this might be just what I need to strengthen my forearms and legs. (The two areas I need to work on most.) Is there a set distance I should walk for each intensity level (Light, Medium, Heavy) or am I just going ot have to w...

I went and worked out a log. And I looked up "training log" and found the ExRx page and read this. A weight training log allows for optimal progress. Too much or too little weight may be used if resistance is not recorded. If too much weight is used, form may suffer and injury is more likely. If too...
