Re: Need help/advise Bicep curls, right side

@signalp: If your shoulder is sore, the culprit could be bicep tendonitis. The tendon of the long head of the biceps crosses the front of the shoulder. This doesn't seem like a problem that can be solved in an internet forum. If bicep curls are causing you problems, don't do them until you know what...

Re: Need help/advise Bicep curls, right side

@signalp:

You mentioned doing vertical pulling motions (pull ups, pull downs) without any problems with your right side. What about horizontal pulling (in particular dumbbell rows)?

@signalp:

Are you lifting heavy with your bicep curls? It's better to strictly curl a lower weight than to cheat a weight up with body english

Re: One-arm one-leg pushups and elbows

@Stefan 93: I bought one of those ab-wheels and I'm steadly progressing towards doing it on toes (not on knees). What do you think, do I need to do those planks if I'm doing this already? If you're rolling out with the ab wheel on your toes consistently, you're doing better than I am. You might want...

Re: Is this a good workout?

@zach96: Your mind seems to made up to follow your own routines regardless of the advice others give you. I suggest that you follow your routine for 6-8 weeks. You can then get back to us with your status, or you can keep us in the loop while you train. Experience is the best teacher Good luck, and ...

Re: One-arm one-leg pushups and elbows

@Stefan 93: One-arm one-leg push ups strike me as an exercise one does to show off their level of fitness, not to build it. You should break down the components of the exercise and work on those primarily (ie one arm one leg planks for balance, one armed push ups for strength) and then bring everyth...

Re: Is this a good workout?

@zach96:

Whether it is a good workout depends on what your stage of development is, and what your goals are.

It's no doubt better to do that routine than to sit on the couch. But bodybuilder-type split routines - such as yours - don't serve the majority of lifters well.

Re: Tricep problem

@tobias84:

Switch to dumbbell bench presses. Working the arms independently should even things out

Keep in mind that perfect right-left symmetry in muscle size and strength isn't natural. Unless one side is markedly smaller or weaker than the other, don't fret too much about it.

Re: Safe to do Stair Master on off days from full body?

Would running the stairs negatively impact my lifts for the next day? Workload and recovery issues pretty much depend on the individual. The easiest way to find out for yourself is to try it, and see how it works. Actually running stairs is harder than a stair machine since you can't cheat by holdi...

Re: So I came up with an interesting routine

What do you guys think of this? If you're an advanced bodybuilder looking to bring up your arms before a show, it's a good routine. For everyone else, it's a vanity routine. Training arms more than torso won't be effective for the typical lifter, except perhaps as a short term strategy. Following v...

Re: Upper/lower routine

Not trying to be annoying, but what is the difference between the nautilus machine and using a barbell rooted into the corner? The Nautilus T-Bar machine won't damage the wall corner. My gym used to forbid members from putting barbells in the corner for that reason. They solved the problem with T-B...
