I am pretty sure he is talking about the brand "Strength" shoes they have a platform that lifts the ball of the food off the ground forcing the calves to remain contracted or else the heel dips and stretches the calf. seen here I think, http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/productdetail.cfm?TID=5555-0001...

hey!

I haven't seen anyone mention Hard Boiled EGGS!

I think they are the perfect snack. FULL of great things. The bad cholesterol/egg link has pretty much been debunked, they are a great source of protein, low in calories, and easy.

theincredibleedibleEGG.

don't forget them.

Re: Caesar Salad

It's been a habit that if I get a salad, it will most likely be a Caesar salad. I'm wondering, how unhealthy is a Caesar salad? A regular salad would obviously be better but would the pros of eating a Caesar salad outweigh the cons? The only problem with a Caesar is the SAME problem with any salad....

Re: Triceps

What's the best exercise for triceps for someone with just a home gym and no machines? I've been doing lying triceps extensions, but I'm not sure if maybe close-grip bench presses or something else would be better to do? I'm looking mainly for size, not really cuts or hitting all the "heads" etc. J...

sonny, are you talking about wrist wraps or lifting straps? wraps are fine in my opinion, straps are a different animal. when I say wrist wraps, I'm talking about power wraps. When going heavy (which I admit I haven't done in ages) I use wraps. They go around the wrist but not the bar. knee wraps to...

Re: gloves

I have a pair of Nikes that go past the first knuckle on the index and middle finger only. My Harbingers don'. I need to go on a rant here, please forgive me. Why wouldn't you use gloves? Only sissies use them? Newbies? Because the old guys don't? As a professional safety guy that is the same thing...

hey sonny, I don't use gloves much anymore, but... .. I remember once having an injury on one of my fingers and my lifting gloves didn't quite cover it. I bought a baseball glove and cut the fingertips out and it worked pretty well. I soak my hands sometimes (while in the hot tub or bath) and right ...

Ryan I chose "as it's own workout" ..although that is not quite true. I also, most often, do my stretching at a different time from my workouts. I have some exceptions to that rule though. If I am going to do some kind of ~demanding~ cardio..like taebo..then I like to have my muscles as flexible as ...

Welcome Newbies!

It's been my experience that about this time of year, a lot of newcomers show up at the diet and exericse forums. The new year always brings with it a lot of exercise converts who either have holiday fat to burn off, or have a resolution. Maybe it's the same resolution you have every year, and it fi...

I just have to add a tip on my favorite way to make post workout shakes bearable. I freeze my bananas right when they get so ripe that I have to either use them or throw them out. I just peel and slice them, and put them in individual ziploc bags. Then I toss them in the blender with my protein shak...
