Re: Try this on the kids: Powerlifter food

Ken, you forgot the fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions, and garlic. I'll definitely be giving the broccoli a try.

Also, if you read the package of "Taco Mix" it will tell you what's in it. I assume it's all paprika and chili powder. I have to check my empty "steak seasoning" every time I make a steak.

Re: do you use gloves or grips?

Actually if your gym doesn't allow chalk I'd recommend dryhands (dot com).

Re: vegan vs. vegetarian vs. omnivore

All of the vegans I know have to eat tons of junk food; where else are they going to get their calories? You seem to already have some presumptions about veganism and health.

You should get half your protein each from plants and meat. There are different kinds of protein and you need the variety.

Re: Front squat wrist issues?

I'm huge fan of the front squat and the wrists are usually the weak link whenever someone starts. When I started my wrists were the most important thing for me to stretch and warm up (I would briefly punch a punching bag) and I remember then when I started doing three or four sets I would have to do...

Re: Whey + Creatine + Caffeine = Performance

Wow, I had always thought mixing creatine in with coffee or something acidic like orange juice would neutralize or destroy the creatine. Googleing "creatine caffeine" also suggests a number of negative relations. "If you take creatine, high daily doses of caffeine will cancel out its effect. But the...

Just don't squat down very far. I was assuming those were just numbers he claimed, not ones from competitions.

Jim Wendler has "a 1000-pound squat, a 675-pound bench press, and a 700-pound deadlift" (http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_art ... g_template), but I assume it's much easier to "cheat" during a super-heavy squat.

The only think I could think of is that you would be a little extra dehydrated in the morning. More protein helps everyone.
