Do you ever do any back exercises with weights? I think you should be able to row more than you can press, so it seems like you have an imbalance which may happen in people who do 3-4 chest exercises and 1 or no back exercises. (Or who just do a lot of push-ups.) Bodyweight exercises are just like a...

padriec - I've found that since I stopped binge eating and instead eat 5-6 or more smaller meals a day, I don't have to wait any time between eating and working out. (Obviously, there's some time, probably 30 minutes.) Sadly, there's no real advice we can give in this area, and you're just going to ...

hack squat problems

So, my gym has no real way to do squats. There's a bench press barbell which I just started doing deadlifts with. When I first started lifting again a year ago I moved up on the leg press until I was doing 4 sets of 22 at it's highest weight, which was exhausting and made me hate myself. I really ne...

That is pretty cool. I think that is what fat chicks do when they get dressed in the morning. hehe :) I think I'll do those and see if it helps. How many are you suppose to do at a time anyway? Is it like the more the better or what? Of course the more the better. As with any exercise, you need to ...

Re: low bf% but beer gut

This is call a distended stomach. Well, you could have a posture problem; pretty much any posture problem may make your stomach stick out. If you can't see your "six pack", it's because there's a layer of fat there. You lower your body fat by eating correctly and exercising. Stomach Vaccums are an e...

Yeah, just don't eat processed food and learn to read nutrition labels. Don't eat Lean Cusine, those things are disgusting; eat real food.

I figure 200m should be a good distance then. I figure some consistency would be better than shuffling along at the end with no energy. From the article: Thirty seconds of sprinting should get you close to halfway around a quarter-mile track. Although you should ultimately strive to push yourself t...

That's something I've been wondering about. I've been debating about scheduling an off day between legs and arms. Right now I don't have any scheduled off days but don't workout when I have a tennis match and take a true rest day when I'm especially busy or especially sore, which averages about onc...

In short, there's nothing you can do. Genetics determines the shape of your muscles and where your body is most likely to store fat. You control how big your muscles get and how much fat you store. Just lift weights, and you'll look good. Everybody has an ideal that they want but will never be able ...

But according to the article, I am definitely heading towards a shin splint injury, so I will rest up for awhile then start with cycling. Faisal - most people who get shin splints aren't weigth lifters so solutions aren't geared towards them. You should be able to permanently get rid of them by doi...

Yes, weight it. Why can't you weight it?

Stardard barbells are 45 pounds. You have one that isn't 45 pounds. So it could be any weight.

Also, could I push it to do 3 days of HIIT a week? I haven't tried HIIT yet, but I have done similar excercises (on a track, jog the curves, sprint the straightaways.). Is there a risk of overtraining? You shouldn't fear overtraining or plan to avoid it. When it happens, you'll notice and be able t...
