Ouch...i failed miserably on the external rotator test, about 10 lbs and not to mention 2 reps short! On the bright side though i'll be curious to see if my bench strength goes up as i improve.

articles about strength ratios?

Does anyone know of any articles that discuss strength ratios and strength limitations, like if you can bench such amount you should be able to do such amount in another exercise? I came across this one http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=459454 and found it to be an interesting read. Im actuall...

Jeff D's feedback

Any comments or questions welcome. I workout 5 days a week, some workouts have low to really low volume though to prevent overtraining. I'd rather do 5 shorter workouts than do 3 or 4 long ones.

You are supposed to pull your shoulders back on the bench (think of it like you're trying to bring them together and stick your chest out) and keep that tight position all throughout the move. If your shoulders are coming up off the bench that might contribute to your problem. You also may be experi...

How do front raises compare to the military press? Both target the anterior delts but they're completely different moves it seems.

What about exercises which don't imply weights, for example push-ups, squats or abdominal exercises, is it safe to go beyond 15 reps ? You can accomplish alot simply by purchasing 1 weight plate, like say 25 lbs. Have someone put the plate on your back for your pushups, or you could do it yourself ...

I always do close grip with 1 to 12 inches between my hands. I do about 12 when I do them alone. I do the 1 inch in a different situation. I'll do skulls and then when I can't get anymore, I'll do the ultra close grip bench press. It is like a superset/dropset type thing. I totally thought I made t...

I never do close grip and regular bench press in the same workout...i give each its own day. One week could be close grip incline, with wide grip flat a few days later. Next week could be the flip flop, med-wide incline and close grip flat.

Well, you're only as good as your weakest link. Meaning if the bottom position of the bench is your sticking point, partial reps at the top part of the movement (where you may be already strongest at)really isnt gonna help you...since its not improving bottom strength. Do partials in the area your w...
