I'm 3 months into this whole wieght training/nutrition/cardio thing. When I first started I hired a trainer and he put me on a body part split (Chest/Tri/Shoulder : Back/Bi/Trap : Legs). Being a begginer I of course made good progress initially, but I noticed I lacked intensity on my 2 exercise for ...

Everything I've read suggests that Breakfast really and truely is the most important meal of the day and should not be skipped. Idealy about 30minutes after you wake you should eat a breakfast with 40-50g protein for men (to get them aminos back in your system), moderate carbs to fuel the digestive ...

there are other methods but they aren't reliable... From what I've learned talking to others and reading lots, the top three are a dunk test (most reliable, but expensive), caliper 7site, caliper 3site. Callipers are about 15$ at GNC or a similar store. Practice measuring per the instructions on exr...

Dave, Did you actually read the study, or did you read a write upabout that study? I'm a fairley analytical guy (have to watch out for analysis paralysis most of time) and tend to base my decisions (concerning exercise and diet) around known scientific studies and common sense. To that extent one of...

The dumbells go to 100, and there are some DB bars that take plates. The more I look at the list the more I think I'm doing something wrong. But then I just put that out of my head and start looking at what I can do better. I think range of motion is limited in the exercises I was doing, because I u...

Meal Timing question

In reguards to meal timing, eating more carbs in the morning, fats in the evening, etc. Does this generally refer to when you wake up being morning, or were the sun is relative to you being morning? I'm a third shifter and generally wake around 6pm, how does tis factor in?

So I took the exercise list to the gym tonight and figured out my 1 rep max on all of them. I took about 2 minutes rest between each one. Anyway, I can't figure out how to do more than 275 on a row. All the cable machines go to 200 and the bars on them don't look like they can take more than 75 or s...

See the tread a little down on the list titled HIIT, I don't get it. I asked pretty much those same questions and got some good answers. Cept the part about evening them out.

And good luck, bro!

I realize spot reduction doesn't work, like John I am just after a strong core. I've had lower back problems in the past and some times when working with heavy wieghts my back gets fatigued. the more I read about it, the more I ralize a strong back without strong abs is pointless and visa versa. You...

was thinking of splitting the cost between 3 or 4 others at the gym so the individual cost would be like 30-50 bucks. I've looked at a lot of the articles on John's site and like what I read and the course thingy looks like it just a better organized and complete package of the same info. The articl...

I"m a fire dancer, that's my cardio, I just want HIIT to finish off my fat burning phase and for some conditioning. Come summer time I'll probably do some lap swimming and bike riding too. So I was going to swap this HIIT business for my current cardio workout and not really concentrate on doing any...

Dr. John Berardi's new nutrition offering, opinions?

I just found this site thanks to a link in a thread here and checked this guys site out. He sounds credable and some of his articles were really impressive. Anyway he's got this new nutrition "system" thingy for $147 and I was wondering if any of you had an opinion about the man or the likelihood of...
