Thanks for the feedback, I was about to ask people what they thought of it. Let me make sure I understand your comment. I don't have any injuries or "issues" as of yet to worry about. So are you saying do BOTH chins and dips during the 20 mins? (or bench presses AND bent over rows ) Are you suggesti...

# Reps for squat and deadlift

Hi all, I've totally gone with the exrx.net rep suggestions for beginners and I also follow the low volume suggestion (1 warm up and 1 workout set). It suggests 8-12 reps to failure and increase the weight once you can achieve 12 reps. I'm considering smaller reps for squat and deadlift (will increa...

Seems messed up that pot is illegal and normal cigarettes aren't. Never tried em, but I heard normal cigarettes are more addictive than heroine.

But I'm not in favor of legalizing pot just because cigarettes are legal.

6/19/2006

Mon. June 19, 2006 I ate a bunch of junk (ice cream, cookies, brownies) this weekend for Father's Day. On the bright side, I'm fortunate to have a wife and kids who love me! So I did both cardio and strength today. Cardio: run ~4 miles on treadmill at 3% incline. Rode bike to/from work (8 miles tot...

Cardio: Bike to and from work (8 mi. tot) Pull Workout: ended up being a half workout on Saturday so I won't bother putting the details. The one thing I was happy about is that I got some more weight plates to max out my dumbbells and I was able to deadlift it 4 times easily. So I need longer dumbb...

Hoister, Thanks for the extra details ... now I understand your handle setup. Great idea. Once I get my 16" handles in the mail (see my journal link below) I bet they will suffice for awhile. When I outgrow them I'll make my own 20" handles like yours. I have no idea at this point how long it will t...

Hoister, Can you tell me more? Where did you pick up the rolled steel bars? Also, I didn't quite understand how you made the thick handles can you explain that a little more? Where did you get the materials? Thanks, Tim, Thanks to the link to IronMinds. I see that they have both 18 inch and 24 inch ...

Peter's Health Journal

Peter's Health Journal Call me Peter even though it's not my real name. I chose the username "PeterP" to stand for Peter Parker who is the alter ego of Spider-man. I like the Spider-man movies and wouldn't mind having some of his strength. Age: 31 Height: 5'9" Weight: 165 Bodyfat: ~17% Cholesterol:...

18" or longer dumbbell handles?

Where can I buy 18" long standard 1" diameter adjustable dumbbell handles? I want to conserve space in my home and avoid using a bar as long as possible. So, I do all my exercises with standard size dumbbells including deadlifts and squats. I need some heavy dumbbells for those exercises. I tried 25...
