When dead-lifting, I use the alternated grip. (I don't know of anyone who doesn't.) My left hand uses a closed grip, and my right hand uses the monkey grip. Why monkey? My right hand has been sore from military presses, so I tried the monkey when deading. To my surprise I had more strength in the li...

If I didn't work in an office with sick people who cough all day I probably would rarely get sick.

I fell into a manhole once. Kid you not. No traffic cones around it alerting pedestrians or anything. But I reached up and caught myself, ripping the armpits of my jacket. Whole thing happened so fast, I wasn't quite sure what the heck happened.

Once in college while walking up the stairs in the bookstore a woman walking down fell and would have broken her head if I didn't reach up and catch her a few inches from the steps.

"Plan 9 from Outer Space." Or anything directed by Edward D. Wood. How about "Robot Monster." Gorillas with TV sets on their heads. I actually saw "The Legend of Boggy Creek" in the theater. Awful. But it had some laughs. Van Damme is across the board bad, can't watch it bad. Bad bad. Usually blaxpl...

I did so much walking at Syracuse University --- up hills, down hills, over hill, over dale --- I'd say just avoid the 4 a.m. pizza if you can. Ah heck, enjoy college, worry about life when after you graduate.

Dead-lifts, man.

Nowadays I put my hands a wee bit closer together on the bar, and I swear I can lift more. That's the way the guys did it last Saturday at the World's Strongest Man competition at Madison Square Garden. One dude deaded 891 pounds. He won, by the way.

A hobby of mine is trying out all of the barbecue places in New York ... ever use a log as a grill? Once camping we just put a log across the fire and roasted our steak on that ... "What the heck, it's sterile" ... I care about how I look up to a point; I guess I'll never have a 32-inch waist, but s...

When women idolize those good-looking Hollywood stars who are all gay. (I have an actor friend in Hollywood; I'm not making this up when I say they're all gay, or 99% of them.) I guess it's going to be a long time before women start judging men on how much they can dead lift . . . I know a Vietnam v...

People who write "loose" instead of "lose" --- I need to "loose" weight . . . People who talk constantly in the gym; WHILE they are doing their workout . . . cell phones . . . texting: I'm walking down the stairs during a fire drill, and the guy in front of me is texting, so I said excuse me, can I ...
