Do you think Obama will choose John Edwards? One thing for sure, he should distance himself from Hillary. She started to sling some mud McCain and Obama's way, but it didn't stick; good for them. But I think McCain is losing his marbles lately; I liked him better eight years ago. Bottom line, Obama ...

Squat! Bench press! Dead lift! Eat! Rest! You have to build a foundation before you put up the house. Try to do the exercises mentioned above twice a week, or around every 4 or 5 days. (Not on the same day; that would be too much.) You can do curls and presses and things, but the above are what's go...

I bought a 40-lb. kettlebell just for fun. I like the way it looks. I use it primarily for cardio (the swing-between-the-legs routine). Also I press it in the morning to get my heart started. I think you'd have to go up to a very heavy kettlebell to reap benefits; that is, I don't think a kettlebell...

I wake up at 6, have some lowfat yogurt, then hit the gym. A three-block walk to the gym, and the meal's digested. I have found that this works best for me.

Maybe I'll try toast and PB or a protein shake one day. But I really recommend at least putting something in your belly before working out.

I've been throwing raisins in my oatmeal forever. It actually makes that snack enjoyable. (I read that Lou Ferrigno eats oatmeal with raisins two to three times a day as his snack.)

How much water is too much

I read (maybe here) that one should drink an ounce of water for every two pounds of body weight.

Someone said that it's too much, you'll flush out all of the vitamins in your body, so take a multi every day; and don't forget, there's also water in food.

Q.: How much water is too much?

I workout better at the gym also. In college, I'd take a book, go to the library, and read it there. Why? Because what else do you do in libraries?

Also, you may have a "fully equipped gym," but do you have dumbbells that go from 10 lbs. up to 150 lbs.? A Smith machine? etc.

Yeah, I've also heard you should avoid cheap carbs/starches late at night. I have some lowfat yogurt, sometimes a small protein shake if I'm starving. But I also go to bed somewhat hungry most nights.

Personally I'd skip the chocolate milk and just put regular milk into your protein shake. The less sugar the better.

To me it's 40 minutes. But you can (vide supra) split it into two, which is fun if you've got the time. In the old days I'd workout Sunday morning, watch some football, then workout again in the evening.

7 a.m., five days a week. I'm too shattered after work to work out effectively (so I do some cardio). I eat some lowfat yogurt beforehand. I'm not a morning person, but I'm hooked to the pre-job workout.

Back in the day when blenders weighed 10 pounds, didn't they put some sort of liver concoction in there? I was born in 1960, and I remember Dave Draper holding up the blender drink, showing off his "20-inch" biceps, everything in the k-word sink in there. And in the movies back then, a hangover cure...

If I could eat every meal from a blender, I would. (a) I don't like to cook. (b) You save energy by not using the oven. (c) No dishes to clean. (d) Fewer calories in the shake. (e) Shakes save time, esp. in the a.m. (f) I mix my protein with organic milk, so I'm getting some calcium. (g) With a shak...

Avoid junk food ... drink plenty of water ... get enough sleep ... smaller, more frequent meals ... exercise 6X a week ... keep the faith and stick with it.

I had horrible blood-sugar problems in my twenties, so I educated myself and no more problems. This is before the Internet, mind you.
