PS.) I can say from personal experience that it is possible to shed bodyfat, at least up to a point, while building muscle mass and increasing stregth. However, typically it's quicker/ easier to focus on one goal at a time (bulking or cutting). I have done that as well. The funny thing is I still a...

I don't think I could ever completely believe that cholesterol was mainly your body's problem. Probably because there are two kinds of cholesterol, and the bad cholesterol comes from food, that being only food from animals. Sure, maybe its not so bad to eat alot of high meat/dairy/egg diets for a li...

Exercises at different points of the day?

This might sound like a weird question, but if I am working out my upper back on one day, do you think its alright too do rows and arm stuff here at my house, but then wait till later in the day (around 6 hours) and do pull ups at work? The reason I ask is there is nothing to do pull ups on here at ...

I have this problem too. My way of fixing it would probably abhor most people...but don't do cardio. Lift weights and just don't eat. That was the ONLY way I could lose any fat once I got to a certain point. I was only eating 1200-1500 calories a day but was still lifting weights. I still have some ...

I think its more for relaxation...like a spa or something. I don't know of too many people that think sauna's have real health benefits. Where I work we have one, with our pool and hot tub, and its just more to unwind after a hard workout.

Re: step ups & lunges?

The question is: WHY do you want to replace squats and deads? Probably because he wants to work his glutes more. That...and because I can do both lunges and step-ups here at my place...squats I must make a 30 min trip in order to do them and not pay a boatload of money for a gym membership or a bun...

step ups & lunges?

Are these two combined a good alternative to squats and deadlifts? They seem to work out the same areas...and work out my glutes more.

Hmm...everyone is basically listing 20 exercises...why not just pick ONE exercise...not one for every muscle group. With that, I would say dumbell shoulder press...which is 50 lbsX 10 reps with each arm

should dumbell equal barbell weight?

That is...should I be able to say, for instance, shoulder press as much with dumbells as barbells? I used to go over to my dad's place to work out, and he actually has a bench with lots o 45,35,25 plates...etc etc...but when I moved a little far away I only have access to dumbells. The reason why I ...

Gotcha...I do not go too low, usually so my arms are parallel
