Re: Yet Another "Best Assistance" Question

Ken, to answer your question on sumo's, yes, they are more quad dominant than the standard DL's, but probably more glute and hip dominant. Depending on bone structure, they don't have the ROM as front squats, 1 leg varieties, etc. I have short to medium length thighs, with long arms, so when I do su...

Re: dynamic effort day

Louie Simmons along w/ Dave Tate use the ME day for speed, and also as form rehearsal , as STU stated. The idea is on the bench, you do 8 or so sets of 3 reps, with varying grips each set, going from slightly wider than a competition width and in from a competition. Also, sets are spaced out at abou...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

Good article. Actually, I try not to bring religion into anything, and usually stay away from arguments on it. IMHO, religion is a very personal choice, which is accepted by the person, and it's just not up to me to judge or try and tell you what to do. Personally, I think which ever religion you ch...

No reason to. It's your opinion. That's what the thread is for. So far, most of these discussions have been civil. If not, they dissapear.

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

Wouter, I don't take a far right, or far left position. But this is a social topic, of which the far right Republicans are adamant about. Here's my take. First, the Govt has absolutely no business on determining what a person should or should not do as long as it's not negatively affecting others. S...

Re: Concept of accessory vs complex vs tabata

You should be fine. Lets say you need triceps work for finishing both the press and BP. Some upper arm accessory will fill the bill after an SL session. Maybe some upper back/shoulder girdle accessory in another SL session, alternated in sessions with some tabata or a good complex. One combo I used ...

Re: Concept of accessory vs complex vs tabata

Not sure why I changed I suppose I felt like tabata with KB 2x per week was enough and that I could use some extra help with some muscle. My next goal will be to add definition but I am finishing this one first. That's the way to do it. go for what you feel is most necessary Remember my motto: noth...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

Well, Ken, IMHO, the wrong people are getting blamed here. I don't see that as the Tea Party, but rather the corporate oligarchy. The hijacked part of the tea party supports those idiots, but not the original ideas.

Re: Concept of accessory vs complex vs tabata

Maybe I've read the thread wrong, because I originally thought the same as you, RS, but rereading it, seems that she's already done the tabata she listed above and got through it. My suggestion would be, if you can get through Tabata's, go ahead, and do them, varied with complexes. Get the best of b...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

The original ideas of the tea party were NOT far right wing. It began with a lot of independents, democrats and republicans that were totally pissed off with the fact that their representatives were not paying any attention to them. Basically it started in the healthcare fiasco, and the fact that th...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

Isn't that always the case with politics/politicians? And I don't get why medical care should be privatised. Or is the reason that Americans don't want something led by the government? That's one of the reasons. The thoughts on that are that if you put the medical community in competition, it will ...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

You're pretty close there Wouter. And yes, the Republicans did want to make some changes to the current system, which mainly had a lot to do with privatization. Something merging the privatization and Govt would probably be good, but unfortunately, the two parties in congress apparently don't agree ...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

Wouter, there is no doubt that the redneck image you have exists, however, the majority of the reason Obama care isn't liked by the majority, is because of the fact that there are so many unknowns involved with it. Even Pelosi came out with something along the lines of you have to vote it in to find...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

Seeing this is random, political, figured I'd post a rant. As bad as the economy is, you'd figure that the Republicans would have a lock on things, but it seems like they're trying to snatch failure from the jaws of victory. Looks like most of the candidates are getting the Joe Biden disease, being ...

Re: Random Controversey Crap (Politics, etc)

I don't get why a lot of Americans who are poor or middle-lower class vote against the social health system of Obama. As I see it, with that system there are a lot more people who can afford medical help Wouter, I don't know where you got that idea. It's not the lower, lower middle that are against...
