When do you usually workout?

Usually I workout in the mornings before work (I work from 11:00 Am to 7:00 PM). However, I'll be switching to days soon (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), so then I'll be working out in the afternoon after work.

"By bodybuilding approach, do you mean a certain number of reps/sets?" I believe he was refering to the bodypart split routines popularized in part by Weider and used by most bodybuilders. These programs varry considerably in volume and frequency (among other things), but one thing they generally ha...

PS.) Most days, I get up early and workout before work (I work 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM), but occationally I sleep in and work out in the evening after work. Soon I'll be spitching to day shift (7:00AM to 3:00PM), so then I'll be working out in the afternoon/evening all the time.

Protien supplements are great for between meals. I like to eat 3 real meals a day plus 2 shakes. It's a lot more convinient than eating 5 whole-food meal a day, which pretty much the same benefits. PS.) This might seem like a lot, but I actually consume fewer calories this way, since I eat less food...

PS.) It seems to me that, in spite of their merrits, the Olympic lifts have fallen out of favor with more than just bodybuilders. Occationally I may see someone doing hang cleans or weightlifting style front squats.

Olympic lifts will definitely build muscle, and it's hard to explain why so few bodybuilders include them in their training programs. One reason may be that fitting them into a bodybuilding style training split can be challenging. Another is that many gyms simply don't allow people to do Oylmpic lif...

A word of caution however ... doing any type of curl with a very heavy barbell can cause or aggrevate pain/discomfort in the wrist and/or forearm. This holds true, although to a somewhat lesser extent with an EZ-curl bar. If you find this to be the case, discontinue the exercise, and try something d...

I'll probably go back to doing Barbell Squats and Romainian Deadlifts, at least for now (I'm going to be moving soon, and joining a new gym).

Supposedly consuming some fast carbs (white break, white rice, potatoe, etc.) immediately after a weight training restores glycogen levels and jump starts recovery. However, it was my understanding that resorting to simple sugars is less than ideal. Also, I agree that sipping a protien shake durring...

Best/Worst Muscle?

While I've always strived for symetry and proportion, as well as mass and strength, I've found that, for me at least, it's almost inevitable for some muscles to lead the pack in development while others stubbornly lag behind. This leads me to wonder how many others here are in the same boat. In my c...

A similar strategy would be to perform a set of strict Military Presses to failure followed immediately by a few Push Presses.

Arnold Schwartzenegger used to swear by Cheating Curls, which are a varioation of ordinarry barbell curls. Usually he would select a weight which allowed him to get a few reps in strict form, then upon reaching failure resort to using body English to get a few more reps.
