What is the target hart-rate for fatburning ONLY? And are you allowed to sweat or is it an indication that you are burning muscles?
I think the target hart-rate should be 50%?

If you've got some strong shoulders, you could do the handstand press. This is exactly what the name implies: do a handstand to the wall (climb up the wall with your feet and 'walk' with your hands towards the wall, if you can't do a handstand). Then you lower yourself untill your head touches the g...

But be sure to not do only decline bench presses, because that will let you have 'hanging tits' (they have their place but only as a tertiary exercise). I believe that you should only do Incline and normal bench presses: The normal will train the full chest and the Incline will train the upper chest...

I think I'm going to do a progressive approach: I'll do 15 mins of pre-breakfast cardio everyday, the next week I'll do another 15 mins of running every other day (no workout that day). Then everything 20 mins, 25 mins,... But I can't do it right now (1 week vacation) because my stationary bike is b...

fat loss program

Hello, I want to do the next program: http://www.t-nation.com/findArticle.do?article=06-025-diet Which implies to do 1 hour of pre-breakfast cardio every other day. But I don't want to get up 1 hour before I need to get up normally, can I switch it to 30 mins every day? This would mean an equal amou...

One arm or both?

I was wondering wether you could bear more load if you use both hands instead of one (or vice cersa). I always thought that you could deliver more force with one arm then with both. Because you canfocus on one movement instead of dividing it between both.

What bodypart first?

I've been following a full-body plan for a couple of weeks, but it says to constantly rotate the bodyparts you exercise. If you do quads first one week, you shouldn't do quads first another week. But I think you should do legs first, because they're the largest bodyparts and they will give you the b...

Well, it actually depends of how many sets you do with a number of reps: 3x10 is the most used muscle builder I believe, basically you do 3 sets of 10 reps with a lowering amount of weight to sustain the number of reps. In your case, you do an awfull lot of reps especially for back and biceps. This ...

IRT Matt Z: It's not the weight of the bike that matters the most, but the quality of the parts: Shimano Deore shifters will allow for less friction and sudden movements (= less knee pain) while you shift then a low quality shimano "unknown" and the chains can break faster when they are of lower qua...

If your girlfriend is going to cycle, just be sure to give her a good bike (normally atleast $700 MTB or cross bike[eg. my bike is a 'Bulls CL-500'] and $1500 race) to increase performance greatly. She should also have a good position on the bike: the better the position, the better the performance ...

Is she able to cycle at a heavy pace? Because if she is, you could let her cycle like 4-7 kilometres (3-5 miles) as hard as she can twice a day (open air preferably, morning/evening to work?) this will make her whole leg much stronger. You could also let her put on those special cycling shoes, but i...

Just an idea, aren't you just overkilling her deltoïdus anterior? You got 3 exercises which use a good amount of strenght. Won't it give her bad proportioned shoulders: there is no direct work for the lateral side and the posterior side hasn't got a real stimulus either. You could do instead of T-ba...

I am doing a full-body routine righ now, but it is a constantly changing hypertrophy routine. That way your body will keep on growing. The only thing you have to do, is to keep on switching exercises and to keep a log with you. Also if you don't know what excercises work best (compound) you should g...

I believe (correct me if wrong) that lunges worke the Gluteus MUCH more then squats. So when you think you have not much muscle in your ass, do lunges and you'll feel sore in your ass for 2 days. Lunges are also better for the knees I suppose. You do have to take a very wide stance though, because y...
