Re: work out help

I took another look at your post and decided to give a more detailed answer. It appears that you are a relative beginner. Beginners need to stick to the basics. Also, it appears that your goal is fat loss. You say toning, but toning=fat loss (http://www.exrx.net/WeightTraining/Toning.html). You need...

Small, but important adjustment: stick the leg day in the middle.

Day 1: Chest and Back

Day 2: Legs

Day 3: Shoulders & Back

This way your upper body has more time to recover and your second upper body workout will be much more productive.

Realize this is going to take time (years). Then sit back and enjoy the ride.

I was the captain of my high school soccer team (7 years ago). I was in a similar position. Our team had a couple of good players and the rest...well, the rest sucked. Soccer is played 11 on 11, couple of good players is not enough. Here are a few things that come to mind to help your team and you: ...

Fractured Talus - Lower Body Work

Hey guys, I twisted my ankle playing soccer and now have a non-displaced talus (ankle bone) fracture. The doctor put me in a high boot. My upper body workouts will remain the same, except I will replace standing exercises with seated variations. For my lower body I would like some suggestins from yo...

Re: Requesting Assistance - Progress at a hault!

Hi All, Monday: Bench Press, Shoulder Press, Triceps Extension Wednesday: Barbell Row, Curls, Dumbell Curls Friday: Squats, Barbell Calve Raises, Dumbell Calve Raises I feel sore the day following a workout and am worried this may affect my abilities if I do 2 days back to back, however with the 3 ...

It sounded like you wanted to get rid of the pot belly and to bulk up at the same time. It is possible to bulk clean. Let's just agree on what it means to bulk clean. To me it means eating lots of good food, maximize muscle gains and to minimize fat gains, as opposed to eating KFC all day and gainin...

Re: Breakfast

I would like to bulk lean now, I still have a little bit of fat on my lower ab, and would like to fine tune my breakfast a little bit. Thanks. George G read: I would like to gain muscle and loose fat at the same time. You need to decide what you want more. Do you want to get rid of the pot belly or...

You are welcome. You diet plays an important role in fat loss, so make sure you get that under control as well.

Re: I would sure love some clarification

It is actually more work than you are currently doing because you are using more demanding exercises. If you need something clarified, just ask. I'm so confused about the best lifting schedule and cardio: Currently: Day 1 Chest/Triceps (3 exercises each/3 sets x 10 reps) then, 30 min bicycle ride 8...

So am I not doing the right thing downing a big protien shake (whey+skim milk) just before bed? Sometimes it's the only time I have in a day to get one down... When my pre-bed meal is a shake it's a casein protein with water, OLIVE OIL, and maybe a piece of fruit or some berries. I think olive oil ...

Just as for reference. I am 180lbs @ 17% body fat according to BIA machine. Basically I have a barely visable 6-pack, but when I bend forward you can see a small roll. Anyway, I am bulking and my daily intake is 3500 calories on non-trainng days and 3800 calories on training days. I am ectomorphic a...

I read in a Time magazine article that it's good not to eat about 4 hrs before sleep as your body rests better when its not working to digest food? but by the sounds of things that is not a good idea. ? At least from the perspective of muscle building, this is incorrect. You will build more muscle ...

I was where you are right now just a few months ago. Your age and body type have nothing to do with this. I am pretty sure that the problem is that you have been doing hypertrophy oriented rep ranges (8-12) for too long. You need to do a couple of cycles of strength oriented traning, which generally...
