By "overall strength" I think the dude meant conditioning. I't kind of like a fat chick wanting to "tone-up."

Re: number of reps per set.

i don't care about getting big, i'm not lifting weights to be a body builder, so which would be better? right now i've been doing the 4-6 reps, as heavy as possible. OK...if you don't want to build your body or get bigger, don't lift. You'll create lots of time for other activities, such as desk wo...

Well, here's some good ol' fashioned, common sense thinking in consideration of your quest for mass: At 150 lbs. of lean body weight, you're going to struggle to move the big weights. To gain mass, you have to keep your caloric intake up pretty high and stop worrying about fat. It's a law of physics...

No one has mentioned range of motion, here. Once you get to a certain load, range of motion becomes limited as well as speed. I watched a pretty big fella doing bent-over rows the other day with 315 lbs. He was snapping them up pretty fast, but the bar was moving approximately 10 inches. Upon furthe...

Hmm-m-m...many young lifters at my gym ask me how to get bigger. I guess my age, combined with a lean 225 lbs. makes me a calling card. I usually tell them: Stop coming to the gym 6 days-a-week for 3 hours each day, stay off the machines, stick with compound movements, heavy weight, and lower rep ra...

For anything that involves the central nervous system, I would not seek advice from an internet forum or anyone other than a physician who is familiar with your case. If your doctor has already said NO weight lifting of any kind, I'd take that as an indication that doing so will REALLY screw up your...

I did decline barbell presses for awhile, but I got more addtional pec development from weighted dips (leaning slightly forward). This also puts a heavy load on the triceps, which eliminates wasteful isolation exercises like the triceps pushdown.

Try consuming more wings and beer...NO, honestly, if you want extended abdominals and thick obliques, weighted crunches and side-hyper extensions may achieve that. I prefer the classic physique though, like Frank Zayne or Dave Draper had, to the bulky, blocky cartoon types you see in bodybuilding co...

Not to mention why would you stack winnie with deca? Deca is a helper for bulking and winnie is a cutter. Unless the deca was just a small amount to help your joints. The deca was administered as oil-based injections and yes, it was for joints that had been punished by years of football and powerli...

ROID RAGE IS A REALITY!

Speaking of steroids, MYTH: 'Roid rage is a fact. Truth: Medical evidence suggesting the existence of 'roid rage is spotty at best. It certainly can't be characterized as a "known side-effect." Let me set the record straight: Back in 83, I was stacking decaduabolin with winstrol (excuse spelling if...
