Assess my Diet

Hi. I was hoping to get some diet advice. It's always good to check it up and get some opinions. My goals are to lose some fat, while keeping on the muscle. I weight about 73kg (160lbs). 178cm (5'11") My father passed away at the beginning of April and I didn't watch what I ate or exercise much. I s...

I read Mens Health. It has some good articles in it. Really? If it's the same as the UK's men's health i don't like it much. Each week you are guaranteed scantily clad girlies, scantily clad men. A story on how to get that six pack in under 6weeks (using only a tea bag and a paper hat) and a sectio...

I add 50-100g of peanut butter with my shakes, because it makes them taste less foul.

some brands of peanut butter have some sugar mixed in so be careful with what you get.

I would also be interested.

There is a good 'list' of the macronutrients in certain foods here:

http://www.brianmac.co.uk/food.htm

I recently returned to the UK. It was almost impossible to find high fat products in the UK. I couldn't find 10% greek yogurt anywhere.

How do you prepare your chicken? The difference in how a meal is prepared will have a huge difference on it's nutrition. Stu I don't mean to hijack the thread, but how do you mean how you prepare. I tend to eat wok fried food a lot because it's easy. I will normally dice some chicken and fry it in ...

Could it just be a case of over training.

I know when I am over trained and tired I start shouting at people while riding my bike, all they have to do is glance at me and I'm shouting and swearing. It could very well be that after a track session you were tired and overtrained.

Unfortunately I am not as knowledgeable as Tim, stu or Kenny so I will try and give some motivational stuff. My girlfriend started training 6 months ago. She had basically done absolutely no weight training before. She is a keen climber and skiier. She can now power clean 40kg with good form, deadli...

The issues involving obesity accually seem to be unknown to alot of the people who are obese. The health risks are not addressed by doctors in such a way that the patient understands what they are doing to themselves. Doctors tend to sugarcoat these issues based on what I've read and alot I believe...

:o In no way did I mean to suggest that danielk should attempt that workout. it was supposed to be a bit of a jokey post regarding the title ... absence of strength and extreme fatigue was exactly how I felt after that workout. I'm not sure what you mean by partial paralysis. if it's the lethargy as...

Limits

I have a question which is pointed to the limits of what can be acheived. I try to base my weight training around improving athletic performance in a range of areas (for adventure racing). Particularly, I try to improve not just strength/power but also power endurance, muscular endurance and cardiov...

PB today

Clean 90kg for Bodyweight of 72kg (198lb).

Clean and Jerk. Couldn't jerk the 90kg, but managed 85 the set before.

It's taken 6 months to build from 80 to 90 kg.

Awsome post

Is there any chance we can sticky Kenny's post. I was totally unaware of the lower weight for developing power.

Kenny, could you perhaps tidy this up a little and maybe add a summary with a few bullet points.

It also depends on type of running too. I have a problem where I heavily under pronate. I roll too much on the outside of my foot and now my shoes try to correct this (from too much running in my earlier years) and my foot hurts underneath when I sit around with shoes on all day. Infact does anyone ...

Thanks for the comments and linkies

I was pretty sure that resistance training is good and safe, sometimes it helps to get a second opinion.

That's a pretty good site, I sent it to my girlfriend.
