Comprehensive discussion! Nothing to add..
If you have nothing useful to add, don't comment. I disapproved your request for a post promoting another site. If you make more trivial posts, I will no longer be so tolerant and you will be banned.

Re: A quick question about rest

The length of time to recover from a workout is the defining characteristic of the categories beginner/intermediate/advanced. The more advanced the trainee, the more complicated the training program. Beginners should keep it simple and repeat workouts frequently.

Re: Difference between shoulder press and military press

Military press is done standing at attention, hence it's name. This requires different stabilization requirements than a standing press. The same primary muscles are involved. The difference is in the stability. Seated also requires different core stability. The exercises are largely interchangeable...

Re: hi guys, i have a question about variation

As long as you repeat a movement in reasonable time that you can track progress, you will be OK. Keep notes and adjust to what works for you. Also, keep in mind that beginners progress faster and can see progress almost daily. Intermediates can see progress week to week and advanced lifters need com...

Moderator overwhelmed

You may have noticed that I'm basically alone in trying to moderate this forum. This is a very low volume forum so you wouldn't think that it's a problem, however, I get hundreds of notifications from spammers daily that clog up much of my view of the forum. Luckily, the measures Ironman put in plac...

Re: A quick question about post-workout

Carbs with the protein can help with the uptake of the protein. Nutrition timing may have marginal utility in elite athletes, especially with multiple workouts per day, but for the average person, as long as you get a meal containing some protein withing a few hours of training, you will get the ben...

Re: A quick question about creatine

Buy Creatine monohydrate. Don't pay more for fancy stuff. Read this: https://examine.com/supplements/creatine/ The bottom line is take 5g a day. Think of it as a vitamin.

Re: A quick question about important

I almost deleted your post because of the non-descriptive subject line. We get to many spammers and trolls here. Rest time is not important. (Yes, Arnold said it was but science proved him wrong) Training volume and intensity are most important. ATP replenishes in a few minutes after working out. If...

Re: Should I keep working out?

If you're not sure, get a doctor to look at it. Resting a few days won't hurt in any case.

Re: A quick question about glycogen

Fat loss comes from calories deficit. However, 1 gram glycogen is associated with about 3 grams of water, so glycogen depletion can lead to water loss that comes back quickly when carbs are reintroduced. There's no long term effect.

Re: Need help?

There is lots of evidence that size can be built with less than maximum weights, even as low as 30% of maximum. It may take longer to get the effect but it's volume that makes the most difference. Look up Brad Schoenfeld for more on the science. Strength would require loads closer to maximum. https:...
