Long-term Exercise Reseach Study

The Energy Balance Lab at the University of Kansas is conducting a Long-Term Exercise Research Study. This study is 10 months in length, compensation for participation is $2,000. To qualify for the study potential subjects must be -
- *Between the age of 18 - 30
*Classified as overweight
*Live in Lawrence, KS year round.
*Be interested in losing weight
*Have no history of regular exercise (i.e 3 or more times per week) over the previous 6 months.
*Not used tobacco of any kind over the previous 6 months.
Subjects will exercise in a private workout room located on the University of Kansas campus. The room is equipped with state of the art exercise equipment as well as TV's & radio's for each individual. The exercise itself is relatively low-impact and will take place on various cardio machines (treadmills, bikes, elliptical trainers) 5 days a week for approximately 40-70 minutes. Times available to exercise range from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
