Matt--I trust everything is OK, and hope your wife is well, or on her way!

I'll keep her in my thought and prayers.

Andy

I went real light today. I didn't get much sleep last night, and I'm very tired.

365 is impressive for Romanians, even as a 1rm, but 2x5 is BIG.

It felt surprisingly easy. I should have done a third set of five.

Hey Matt I was just looking over your training a bit and I was just curious- how tall are you? Your Squat weight looking back a couple a pages is the same, if not more than your deadlift weight. I am just sort of wondering if you are shorter or taller. I hope its not too personal but most of the time I see short guys are better at squatting while taller guys strength seems to be their deadlift. But it would appear you have been training for years and years to get such high of numbers and maybe that whole height thing fades with more training. You are freaking strong. LOL.

Thanks. I'm still working on a bodyweight Military Press having gained about 20-25 lbs over the last year or so. Meanwhile, I should really test my Push Press. My old PR is 245 lbs and I'm sure I can beat that now.

Proportionally, I think I have relatively short arms and legs with a long torso.

I also have a deep chest, with fairly narrow shoulders and wide hips.

"matt, when you do high pulls are you pulling them from the floor or from a hang?" - robertscott

I pull from the floor to my lower pecs.

"And how do you decelerate the bar?" - robertscott

Gravity generally takes care of that.

haha yeah, i didn't mean how do you make the bar travel back down, i have a reasonable knowledge of physics. What i meant was do you drop the bar like the guy does on the video on this site?

No, I don't drop the bar. I lower it as one might a Hang High Pull, then do a negative deadlift to set it down. ..... Holding on can be a challange. Chalk helps a lot.
