Great idea on the 5/3/1!
Yeah, I agree that you need to put some effort into getting enough pulling. I feel like I should do some pulling that is heavy, and not just accessory. I have sometimes put in weighted pull-ups, and treated it as a big lift, even doing a 5/3/1 progression for a while. Most recently I've been doing pull-ups and chin-ups in 2 of my 3 days, 5 even sets with the last set to near-failure. In the past I did chins on press days, rows on bench days.
Where did you find that quote from me.. Does sound interesting, but being at home, I don't have a cable setup yet. I plan to have something soon, but I haven't done it yet.
I really need a LOT of upper body pulling. I struggle with pullups and chins. This makes me think I need to add an upper body pull to most workouts. Not always heavy though.
I like that, but should I RDL on Squat Day.Jungledoc wrote:I'd stick to 1 major squat, and use RDLs and splits as accessory.
New Issue I'm having...
Being outside in my garage, I'm wearing more and thicker clothes than I would at a commercial Gym. IE: a T-shirt and a Sweatshirt. Typically not an issue, except, I can tell the difference when trying to "Hold" the Bar on my back. The Bar want to slide down easier, which is generally less comfortable and out of position. I am finding myself focusing on holding the weight in position and not Lifting the weight up or lowering it down. Not sure how to really fix this problem until it gets warmer.
