Hi Ken.
All pullups for that sessions were bodyweight. I train pullups twice a week, one session is 'ladders' using only my bodyweight, ie. what you read. The other i do weighted pullups. I've never used resistance bands for pullups.

hehe, it's a good one and no mistake. I quite often read your log, we're about the same on upper body stuff but your lower body lifts are light years ahead of mine

I find it very difficult to refrain from making a joke about this. Like Corless getting his bag clapped.
Why are you going to Thailand? I've been 3 times, and I love it, at least the part that is not Bangkok! 1 1/2 hour of Thai massage for like US$3!

Just a little/ish holiday with my girlfriend. This will be my third time also, nut my girlfriends first. I have a good friend of mine who i lived with at Uni who moved out there to do a years teaching, that was in 2005 and he's not made it back yet!!! My girlfriends youngest brother is out there teaching as well. They're both in Bangkok, which i don't mind for a few days, but then it's off to the beach we shall go and then maybe Cambodia depending on the time.Jungledoc wrote:Why are you going to Thailand? As you can imagine, i'm looking forward to it.

We've been in Chaing Mai and surrounding area twice, and we really like that part. For a city, Chaing Mai is nice. We love the Night Market district there.

I still look at weights posted in kg, and think "200 ain't all that much... oh, wait. That's kilos. That's 440 pounds!"Proper Knob wrote:1 x 200kgs
As I recall without looking back, when you started posting you were pulling less than me. Now you have me beat all over the place. Nice, consistent work.
Re: Phil's Journal Comments.
Actually, I got curious and looked back. You were pulling a little more than me when you started posting. In January, 09 you pulled 319. In April I got a pr of 315, which do to a series of setbacks, I didn't improve on until last year. In that time you got yours up to 4-whatever. That 440 you just posted isn't a PR, is it?

205kgs/451lbs is my best ever. I did that just before Xmas last year. I was going to try 210kgs yesterday but knew it maybe wasn't quite there when i lifted 190kgs.Jungledoc wrote: That 440 you just posted isn't a PR, is it?

Re: Phil's Journal Comments.
just so you know Phil: you and I are at exactly the same level of strength on the bench press, so we are now in direct competition.
It's on.

Re: Phil's Journal Comments.
That is exactly the sort of thing i want to here. Nothing like a bit of friendly competition.robertscott wrote:just so you know Phil: you and I are at exactly the same level of strength on the bench press, so we are now in direct competition.
Unfortunately, training wise anyway, i'm off to Thailand for 3 weeks in 12 days time. So you're going to get a head start on me. Here's the plan, train till the end of the year and see where we are, but; you have to start posting your upper body workouts in your journal otherwise i won't know where you're up to.
Deal?!

Re: Phil's Journal Comments.
