I have absolutely no idea of what the meaning of "clean carbs" might be.Mostly, the ones suggested to use would fall in the low to moderate GI (Glycemic Index) range. Just look at a table of foods and shoot for 50 or below. However, that being said, GI may not be the end all be all as far as carbs go. Most physicians are now turning to the II (Insulin Index) or Glycemic load, which can also take into consideration food combinations. Mostly, for individual foods they follow the GI, but there are some surprizes, While the GI for Dairy , and fatty meats (sausage) is just about nil on the GI, their II is actually moderately high, and similarly, Rice (in particular brown), yams and sweet potatoes are actually moderate. (regular potatoes rank fairly high on either). Just consult a table on the GI of foods. Must be plenty on web.
