Vitamins - better to take at night or morning?

Post by pdellorto » Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:49 am

I take some vitamins, essentially to ensure I've gotten everything I need. Multivitamins, multiminerals, fish oil, extra C when I'm not getting enough fruit, etc.

I'm curious if it is better to take them at night, with my pre-bedtime snack, or in the morning?

I've been taking my vitamins spaced throughout the day, literally breaking up the doses into pieces and having them at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Is there any benefit to taking some or all right before bed?

Take them in the morning. Vitamins and minerals regulate your metabolism. It would be most beneficial to do so when its fully active (since we all know it slows down when you sleep), which in turn should help burn more calories, and give you more energy. Fish oil I'd say take a pill with your 3 main meals to keep a constant amount.
