Mathematical nutrition question

Post by bob » Wed Jul 16, 2008 11:24 am

Here's a question for you math whizzes, since i was born w/o the math gene! Can you determine the grams of fat allowed per day in a 2100 calorie diet where 30% of the calories are obtained from fat? I came up with 70 grams and also 6.3 grams but i don't know if either one is correct.

Fat = 9 grams per calorie
Protein = 4 grams per calorie
Carbohydrates = 4 grams per calorie

2100 x .30 = 630 / 9 = 70 grams of fat in a 2100 calorie diet.

Don't remind me about that, or its precedence over other sources of energy burned :(

Unless you're drinking something feminine like say a captain and coke.
