My cutting diet...

Post by tyler » Sun Sep 21, 2008 12:35 am

Ok...I've lost some good weight so far, but kinda wondering how long I can keep this up.

Morning- About 300-400 calories worth of peanut butter or eggs
Lunch- A can of tuna
Dinner- About 500 cals worth of beef jerky, tuna. Also a can of mandarin oranges, 100 cals
Snack- Spinach and some cashews, probably about 150 cals worth.

Altogether I've pieced it up as being around 1000-1400 cals a day. I already notice a difference in the mirror...and still have energy for weights with some HIIT. Granted...I'm pretty hungry most of the time...but it gets results for me. As long as I'm getting pretty good protein I shouldn't worry...right? I still probably got about 2-3 more weeks minimum...

By what I've seen not for very long.
Morning- About 300-400 calories worth of peanut butter or eggs
Umm... peanut butter for breakfast?
Lunch- A can of tuna

Use any sort of condiments?
Dinner- About 500 cals worth of beef jerky, tuna. Also a can of mandarin oranges, 100 cals
Where did the beef jerky come from?
Snack- Spinach and some cashews, probably about 150 cals worth.
Not bad

Things to point out:

-Not enough detail with what you are eating.
-This is not a manageable diet.
-There is not enough fruits and veggies.
-Variety of foods sucks.
-Your breakfast sucks, try eggs with veggies mixed in to it, maybe some bacon or sausage too.
-Your lunch sucks, try a can of tuna mixed with a salad with extra veggies mixed into it and some cheese.
-Jerky for dinner and the same thing you had for lunch??? Cmon eat some brocolli and a serving of steak.
-Invest in some whey, use it as a snack.
-Calories are too low at this point with the amount of fat you are trying to lose. Either your metabolism is going to tank and/or your going to be hungry all the time and/or your going to be tired all the time.

I'd suggest you read the stickies and redo your diet and post a new version on here for further analysis.

Haha...those pics I showed you all were from a couple of weeks ago. I'm not saying I'm completely lean...but have dropped a couple of pounds. Oh yea, I'm not advocating this diet to anyone, but part of the problem is my job. I work security and can't bring in food like fresh meat or something cause I don't have a fridge or something to put it in. And they food they offer stinks and would turn me into a blimp. Very breaded and fried stuff. I do hate the variety, but I have read in numerous articles that consistency in your diet (the same foods) often leads to more weight loss than a varied diet. And aside from bringing in sandwiches or eating pretty soon after I get to work...I don't know what other meats except for canned (or jerkied, I guess) I could bring in. But then by 9 pm I'm really starving, as opposed to eating at 5 or 6 pm and then making it my last meal. I'm considering getting some whey powder...just been lazy about it. I have dropped from 182 which I was on vacation to 176...and I can definitely notice the difference on my face. The belly fat is usually last to go. We'll see how much longer I can do this (I acutally start up school here in a couple of days too...argghh)

1. The problems tend to occur when cravings/hunger strike. So if you insist on staying this diet then make sure that you have the will power to grab fruits/veggies rather than chips.
2. You have to remember that when you start dieting, water weight is the first thing to go.

I am not sure going this low is quite healthy.
If refrigerator is a problem, I would think going veggie is better than eating or not eating at all.
Stir fried veggies are easier to make and keep for a long time. Sprouted beans and legumes will be very helpful.

We add turmeric traditionally because in warm climates, you need something that is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial in your food. It will be useful for you as you are not keeping things in the refrigerator.

Possibly meat will also stay safe for longer duration with turmeric, if temperature is not too high. Stuff with protein degrades a lot faster than without.
