Kirkland (Costco) fish oil softgels

Post by bob » Tue Apr 28, 2009 4:08 pm

I'm going to Costco this week to stock up on supplies and thought about getting some Kirkland fish oil. They have 100% natural wild Alaskan salmon oil, 180 softgels, 1000 mg.(not sure of the price) and Iceland health max. strength Omega-3 fish oil, 220 softgels for $24.00. Kirkland quality is usually good and prices are reasonable. Has anyone tried these?

I haven't tried those brands. Go with the ones with the highest EPA and are the freshest.

I use the Kirkland enteric-coated fish oil caps. They are about $17 for 180 capsules. 1200mg per capsule, total DHA+EPA of 684mg. That's about as good of a ratio as I've found, and they pass all of the usual tests (the oil won't freeze, they don't cloud up or become rancid before I finish them).

I've seen the ads for the salmon oil, but I don't know how much DHA+EPA they have in them. I also don't know if there is a real difference between the same amount of DHA/EPA from salmon oil or from another fish's oil.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Peter. It does help. When I go there, I'll read the labels and decided which one to get.
Also, for those of you who shop at Costco, in the new coupon book they mail out, there is a coupon for $6.00 off the regular price(?) of Muscle Milk Light, 24 pack. This is valid May 11- May 31

Bob, I shop Costco all the time, and buy their brand of fish oil. The label shows i to be pretty good, and I've had no complaints.

But it... tastes... like.... my.... feet.

I like to buy my whey from a small mom-an-pop down the street. I like giving a "meathead" trying to make it on his own my money rather than some national brand.

I do use Kirkland Fishoil (and a whole slue of other things too.)

Thanks for this thread. Was good to know I didn't have to buy flameout.
