I saw that on whfood when I was looking for squash - I don't think I've ever even seen one of those in person. Between those and sweet potato I'll just go with sweet potato... though I'll be curious to see if I can find them in a store. I don't recall seeing pumpkin either, except for at Halloween.

Around here they're common. They last a long time after harvet so they're a staple vegetable in the fall/winter, along with root vegetables and onions. Of course now with shipping and greenhouse operations, you can get almost everything year round.
