Specific Snack Advice

About 3 months ago I began to try to change my diet. Like most beginners I faced a bewildering array of seemingly conflicting advice.

I am, if ever there was one, a pure ectomorph, skinny. Cutting is hardly my concern, my goal is to gain energy for more intense workouts.

After reading a few of the sticks, it seemed a good starting point was to establish the habit of eating every hour or two. Assuming I did not start with bags of potato chips (ha ha) I figured I could then adjust what I was actually eating. So now that habit is firmly established.

I started with something I figured couldn't hurt. Each day I stuff my lunch bag with snacks, and during the day, not counting regular meals, I will eat any of these:

1) An apple with peanut butter
2) 3-4 carrots
3) A pear
4) Cheese and crackers (no Ritz, I like the store brand Wheat Thins knockoff)

I am wondering if anybody can provide specific snack ideas for somebody who does not need to worry about gaining fat, wants overall health, but also specifically wants to support increasingly intense workouts.

beef jerky. I get 1 lb bags from the store and always get the original flavor....least sugar added. I have 2 ozs as a mid morning snack....30+ grams of protein.

Or make your own jerky, every store brand that I know has msg in it.

Tea Eggs
It's a hard boiled egg with flavor. I make my own....

Bring a pot of water with 10 eggs in it to a boil.
Simmer (very low) for another 15 minutes.
Place the eggs in cold water for about 5 minutes.
Bring another pot of water to boil.
Add salt (a tsp is fine), two tea bags (Lipton works), and one star aniseed.
Remove the eggs from the cold water.
Crack the shells on the eggs (do not remove, just crack them all round).
Place the eggs in the boiling tea.
Let simmer (very low) for 45 minutes.
Let the eggs sit in the tea overnight.
Store in refrigerator.
Yum.

mmm tea eggs are nice I tried one for the first time just the other day. I think most beef jerky tends to have loads of rank chemicals in it, nitrates and stuff
