Yeah, what Stu said. If you must have your whole grains, stay away from the packaged, processed garbage that get's toted as being great. I think maybe grape nuts may be all right. Choose something real and not processed. You will need to cook them up though. Quinoa, kashi (NOT the processed stuff, but the real whole combination of stuff you need to cook) and old fashioned oats, rolled cross cut or whatever are good. Don't shy away from fibrous veg either. Most people think yuck, veg for breakfast? Yeah, why not? Some fresh, in season fruit couldn't hurt too much either if you have that sweet taste pang.

Eggs. Cheese optional. Bacon optional. Ham optional. Veggies optional. Beef optional.

On special occasions, have your eggs with veggies and meat, grate some cheese and scramble it in, then top the creation with salsa and sour cream.

On special occasions, i'll have extra eggs with my eggs.

I heard that in the new year, battery hen farms are to be phased out in the uk...although thats good, I hope I can still afford 90-120 eggs a week

I guess you guys are talking about boiled white eggs.. What kind of veggies do you eat for breakfast..

For me boiling carrot seems to be the easy and less time taking process..

Fry your eggs in the bacon fat left over after you finish cooking you bacon. Use coconut oil or butter if you're not having bacon. The fat gives you energy. Skip the toast.

You can eat any kind of veg for breakfast. Typical stuff to put in an omelet are peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, but you could put in anything. Cheese and ham work good too.

Leftovers also make a good breakfast. Just think outside the box.

I'm particularly fond of sardines in mustard with fried eggs and a piece of fruit for breakfast.

As for your cereal, the box probably has more nutrition.

Omelette is my choice.

1. Fry up ham/bacon + your chosen veges (I normally go zucchinni, mushroom, tomato) + spices (chili flakes for me!)

2. Then add a couple of beaten eggs.

3. Once its set add some cottage cheese

4. ..........

5. Profit.

Bacon and sausage are OK for occasional treat, say once a week or so. Fry at low temperatures to keep the carcinogenic byproducts to a minimum. Bacon and sausage will also contain sugar and salt and in the case of sausage, some bread based filler. Nitrites are naturally found in the human gut and protect against botulism poisoning. It's cooking them at high heat that cause the problem. Nitrates are worse than nitrites as they more readily convert to nitrosamines in cooking.

thanks again Mr Ward.
More bacon, at low cook temps and reserving the fat for later
win win.

I would much rather see you eat bacon than pizza and beer. Sugar and alcohol are the enemy.
