It is so simple

Post by Oscar_Actuary » Wed Apr 24, 2013 7:42 pm

why do I go to Arby's, when making Roast Beef at home (or whatever you call it when you heat a 4 lb sirloin tip roast at 400f until med rare, rubbed down with olive oil and herbs, and s&p, and garlic.)

And the cost is fractional

Lazy? It take more time and effort to go to Arbys.
Variety? Yeah, that's probably it. I do eat the same things all week, week in and out during the day at work. Mostly pretty decent stuff like cheese, fruit, yogurt, canned fish, brcolli, spniach, peppers. And occassionaly sandwiches. So, for dinners, eating out gives more opportuninty for variety. We'll eat out 2-3x week.

But back to that Roast Beef. It was really good and simple.

 You get more immediate gratification at Arby's --or else its the subtle mind control in their advertising.

still, you'd have a lot more control of your ingredients if you cut it down.

I had three enchiladas at Cheesecake Factory the menu said it was 1200 calories. I don't know how they produced that kind of density without a cup of sugar, it could not have been in the rice and beans.

The Shepherd's Pie was 1500 calories. How do they do that?

Arby's has jalapeño poppers.
