Food or drink to replenish electrolytes

Hello everyone,

This summer, there were days when I had to be on 35ºC (95ºF) on a sun fully equipped (workwear, boots, helmet, gloves and glasses) for a few hours. Naturally, I was sweating very badly. I regularly drink around 1,5 to 2 litres of water, but then I upped the intake to even 4 litres and I felt that I lost every electrolyte from my body.
So, I must ask you this: Is there a natural food or drink that can quickly replenish lost electrolytes?
I know that there are sports drinks, but they aren't healthy so I won't drink them.

Salt! I found the same thing when camping in the desert - you're drinking so much water and sweating that you feel like you have an electrolyte depletion. Eating salty foods helped me.

When I was searching the Internet, I saw that they mention the salt.
There was a recipe: lemonade + honey + salt. I tried that recently, but those high temperatures were already gone, so I couldn't tell whether it works or not.

If we look at the foods, they are mentioning bananas, carrots and cheese. I tried this combination after a workout and it felt good, but I don't know whether it would work for high temperatures or not...

Sugar and salt are the main ingredients. Potassium/sodium balance is important but it's sodium that is usually in short supply in the heat. Dill pickle juice actually works surprisingly well. However, the actual formulation you need depends on the symptoms you're experiencing.

Thanks Stu! I knew that you would appear with something good
Based on those symptoms mentioned there, I guess that it was probably sodium.

Salt and water will replenish electrolytes. I learned that from my nurse friend.

I use a product called Stress-Dex. It is very similar to Gatorade but MUCH less expensive. They use it to replenish the electrolytes in race horses after a race.
