Walkport Test

Post by jccurth » Tue Jun 21, 2011 10:09 am

Hi!
What does the "score" criteria on the Walkport test represent? What is the range? Any information you can give me on this is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Jane

What is the "Walkport" test?

I put in some arbitrary numbers on that calculator and adjusted to see how high I could get it to go. Never more then 101 and I could get it to a score of 0.

Most other Rockport Walk test sites do not have a 'Score' or 'Population Average'. *shrug* I would assume it's an arbitrary scoring set up by the person that made it on this site and yes, it would be nice for a key to the calculated data fields. Also since it doesn't go much over 100, it's possibly a percentile thing. The main thing to be focused on for this test is the VO2 Max which is what every other site is focused on. Below is a range and rating for the VO2 Max taken from a different site.

Very Poor < 31.5
Poor 31.5 - 35.4
Fair 35.5 - 40.9
Good 41.0 - 44.9
Excellent 45.0 - 49.4
Superior > 49.4

Yeah, 101 is likely a rounding error that comes out if you enter data that is simply too good.

BTW why were you interested in the Rockport test? Is it for general fitness testing or you're trying to estimate your VO2Max ?
