Running patterns. Every day or every other day?

I am lucky to have a flexible summer schedule. So now, I have the ability go running on any given weekday.

I also play ultimate frisbee on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

What would be a better plan? To do HIIT on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday to "stack up" on those running days? Or should I do HIIT on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after my upper body workouts? (note: I give myself enough time to rest between each 'event.' So it's note like I'll be going straight from upper body to HIIT. I'll take an hour or 2 rest. Same goes for ultimate frisbee where it will be a few hours between finishing HIIT and playing ultimate.)

Actually, I see nothing at all wrong with any of the plans. The best plan would be the one where you looked forward to doing it, and wouldn't have to force yourself to do it. If that's stacking on frisbee day, then so be it. if it's better for you on upper body day, then so be that. Don't get overly concerned, just do what suits you.

Heh, I look forward to doing it every time because I can see the results.

I guess there is some physiological factor that plays into this. I remember a thread a while ago that talked about full body workouts and why doing workouts on consecutive days isn't the most optimal. For instance, doing chest monday and back tuesday doesn't make sense because you work out your back on monday just by doing those chest excercises, thereby never giving your back a chance to rest. I dunno, the other thread said it much more eloquently than I have.

But regardless, the idea is the same. That full body workouts for one day (BTW, I also do pistols and explosive lunges on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), followed by complete rest on another day is more optimal. I just want to know if that is applicable for working out my legs.
