I am 57 and have a arthritic knee. I swim 2 - 3 miles a week. I swim breast stroke for 75% and crawl and back stroke for the rest. With the crawl I use support to keep my back legs boyant. I stopped using a kick board because of knee pain. My questions are 1) what muscles are not in use w/ this swimming regimen and 2) exercises should I do to compensate for the muscles I am not using while swimming?
