Hi
Was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of people suffering from long term hand or wrist pain due to weight lifting??
It's just curiosity as my wrists take a pounding when training chest and tri's especially. And my hands aswell, especially on a back day....
Thanks

Hi,
I've had a similar problem in the past.
I got rid of it by doing low weight, high reps on the two exercises listed on the main exrx site.

It was annoying for me because I'm a musician as well.
Are you doing lots of isolation exercises? It may be some areas are progressing faster than your wrists can cope with?
May be a tendon issue?
all the best.

Hi, thanks for the response.
I don't really have problems with my wrists and hands. They are sore the night after, and some times the day after certain workouts (mostly back, tri's). I was just wondering if this could lead to any long term problems?
I always expected it to go away, similar to when you start punching a bag intensely for the first time - you end up with sore hands and wrists, but it only lasts the first few bag workouts then goes away.
I guess with weght training it is different because resistance is always being increased, in general anyway....
