I was curious to know the difference between using an underhand grip vs the traditional overhand. Obviously the underhand hits the biceps a little more but i was wondering if that resulted in the move being any less effective for the lats than the overhand? I dont really do any isolation exercises at all for the biceps, so the underhand would be the grip id prefer using to give them just a little work...but not at the expense of the lats. I suppose i could just alternate or whatever...but i wanted to know anyway.
Well, if you look at it, the under grip has a tendency to keep the arms in closer to the bod, and aside from working the biceps a bit harder, it would focus in on the lats. The overgrip, especially with a slightly wider grip, tends to keep the arms farther from the body, and focuses more on the rhomboids and trapzius. I'd vary the grips. Just my .02
