Knee straps for squats

Post by hoosegow » Tue Sep 19, 2006 12:29 pm

I have been having slight knee pain in my right knee when I squat (inside towards the patella). It is usually only when I am going heavier (365 x 6)- okay probably light weight for you guys, but heavy for me. What is your opinion on getting some straps and if so, how do you wrap?

Hoosegow, I think you would do better asking at http://www.goheavy.com/forums/train/
The reason I'm pointing you over there is that there are so many different knee wraps out on the market, you could get lost in all the names. Also, this board is almost exclusively powerlifers and they know which wrap works best for described problem areas.
Just an oh, by the way, 365X6 is pretty darn respectable. I've done 420 as a single, at 148, but that was 20 years ago, and I haven't gone over 245 for reps in close to 6 years.

I worked out with an experienced power lifter yesterday. Form was my problem. I didn't point my toes out far enough and my legs were too close together. No more knee pain.
