ic people workout their wrist and forearms is there a benefit in doing that i suppose strong wrist would give u good grip
For general strength and ability, I'd work out my wrists and forearms. Though you do excercise them a bit when you do your lifts, I find that it is not enough to make significant progress.
I may be a different example, but as a breakdancer, wrist strength is paramount. If you want to do a handstand or anything on your arms, your wrists have to get a lot of attention.
If you ever want to do any rock climbing, you'll need to work on grip and wrist strength.
It's versatility.

My current forearm routine consists of 3 sets each of Standing Wrist Curls and Reverse Wrist Curls. Standing Wrist Curls,also known as Behind-the-back Wrist Curls, are performed with a barbell held behind the back (palms out). Meanwhile Reverse Wrist Curls are performed seated with my forearms resting across my knees (using a light barbell).
I also include EZ-bar Reverse Curls in my biceps routine, although I'm thinking of replacing these with Hammer Curls.
