When are you eating relative to when you are working out and what is your breathing technique?

for the last week ive been getting around 1,000 - 1,500 calories in me before working out, and then getting the last half of my calories after. i just read something yesterday about complex and simple carbs, and how complex are good before and simple are good after a workout. i'll have to start paying attention to that, im sure low blood sugar from simple carbs could make me dizzy while working out.

my breathing technique is basically breath in, then breath out during the first part of the rep, breath in when it comes down. i dont always follow this perfectly, but i stay truer to it for lifts like deadlift and squat.
