DB shoulder press technique question

Post by js2003 » Tue Jan 30, 2007 8:14 pm

On this website, it shows here to go all the way down to your shoulder when doing DB shoulder presses; is this better than just coming to your ear level since I am worried, coming all the way down to the shoulders may put too much stress on my shoulders, any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

As long as you can comfortably use a full range-of-motion, then go for it. Also, never cut your reps short just so you can lift more weight. I've seen a lot of guys do this.

I have heard some " experts" say that going down past paralelle is bad on thes shoulder joint, however I agree that you should use your own full ROM on the exercise. I go down to my shoulders for as many reps as possible then finish out with paralell reps after. Regardless of range, proper form takes precidence over amount especially with the shoulder capsule.
