In general, once a week is considered maintenance, while two or three is required for growth. Of course, for some people, one workout a week is enough for growth if the workout is really brutal. It's largely a function of your training philosophy and your training goalsjs2003 wrote:Or should I do it more often.
Thanks again for the earlier comments for my question
Depends really on what your overall schedule looks like. If your benching or something like that 1-2 X week, and on a separate day you want to do weighted dips, then 1 day/week would probably be enough. There is so much similarity between them that it would probide growth potential. If not doing something like that on other days, then 1 day/eek is not enough. I usually do bodyweight dips 4-6 X week as part of an overall warmup, and use the weighted version for the harder workouts.
