I agree. I revived the thread about thick-bar benching I started a while back.

Also:

12/8/08 Barbell Bench Press, 3 x 175# at a bodyweight of 190#. Getting closer.

Far Bar Floor Press - 2 x 195# at @ 193# BW, 1/12/09

Did 3 doubles and one single during the same workout, plus backdown sets. Getting closer to full-ROM benching 1 x BW.

Hit my target in the 1 arm snatch

Post by Hoister » Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:49 am

I finally hit my goal of one arm db snatch of bodyweight each hand:

left hand - 182.5 lbs x1
right hand - 182.5 lbs x1

- attempted a second, caught it overhead in the squat, but couldn't keep the bell overhead steady enough to stand up with either hand.

Hoister, you seem to be back in good form. Well done. Have you seen the challenge this month? http://exrx.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5682

Nice lift Matt!

Front Squat 225x5 ! -- felt good having two plates on.

Flat Bench 225x7 !! -- time to move up the weight soon on my top set. I would like to be able to do a 10 rep set of 225. I think doing the half reps really helped me with my sticking point.

Ok, So being relatively new to this game, i thought my strength to weight is pretty good, but nowhere near as strong as most of you guys!

I finally got access to some serious weights, and this is what i came up with @ current bodyweight of 140lbs:

Deadlift: 250lbs x 2
Squat: 210lbs x 3( in a rack coz i had no spotter! does that count?!)
Bench: 195lb x 2
Shoulder press 130lbs x 2

Those are respectable numbers!

Nothing wrong with squatting in a rack, as long as it isn't a Smith Machine.
