IMO, it doesn't need to be a sticky. Its active enough to sustain itself.

pre-jaw and knee surgery squat 290lbs x 1
post jaw(aug-sep) and knee surgery(sept), wasn't back to squatting until november, today i hit a new PR with 315x1. I think i could have done 1 more set but I didn't want to push it too much. I'm happy with going up 25lbs!

I am pretty pumped. Now I just have to see how the deadlifts go. I'll also be pulling without straps so I'm not sure if I'll go up or not. If I hit a wall due to grip, I might just pull the straps out to see how much further I could go.

Adding 25 lbs to a 1RM is a big improvement.

As for deadlifts ... Try using a mixed grip with chalk if you're not already (Provided your gym alows chalk). ... Also, you can try doing barbell holds off a rack to improve your grip strength. That worked really well for me.

I've been doing mixed grip since surgery. mainly because I didn't want the crutch and I wanted to build up my grip strength. It definitely helped a lot and I'll probably pick up some chalk before tomorrow.

The chalk will help, but what will help even more is only busting out the mixed grip when you need it - do your warmup sets and any timed barbell holds with a pronated grip. Your grip will improve faster, because it needs to . . .

Thanks for the tip. Wanted to go and test my DL max, but I've been wrecked with allergies and what not this week. Ruined me! Started feeling better today but don't want to over due it just yet. Will probably get back to things on Tuesday and test dips and db bench press when I'm done with deadlifts.
