Not gaining strength

Post by fortiz » Mon Oct 15, 2007 5:14 pm

I tried the workout that Ironman suggested to another user by the nickname of frani08. I have been trying it for the last 4 weeks and i am not seeing any strength gains. I think i eat enough protein. I eat 2 bowls cereal in the morning with an egg. I eat a snack around 10:00. My snack are sunflower seeds. I eat again when I come home. I eat a big meal. I eat for the last time in the night as the same thing in the morning. What should I do to make more strength gains and to get bigger.

How much do you think enough is? Because I'd recommend consuming way over 100g a day. I need more detail on the routine and the food your eating to be able to help you out.

Are you frani08? I get the feeling that some sort of game is being played here. Why do you need two posts?

I have my doubts - but you're Ironman's client regardless

It's hard to help people without any stats.

I think he is going to want to know how to keep the butter from getting all over the inside of the toaster.

Fortiz, we need to know something about you in order to advise on a program. The most useful "strength" program for beginners is "Starting Strength" by Marc Rippetoe. There is a link in the sticky "A small collection of basic routines". A body building routine will not make you strong unless you design it to do that.

If you're really looking for advice, go for Starting Strength - any question you can possible have is answered here:

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=998224

I'd be surprised if you aren't a sockpuppet for frani08, but regardless, anything you want to know about doing that routine is in that thread. Anything else you need to know would be here:

http://www.amazon.com/Starting-Strength ... 0976805421

Read the thread, buy the book the new edition comes out in a week, do the routine, and you'll get big and strong.
