I think the issue here was not the demo itself but the way the directory is structured. You probably did a google search for the exercise as many do and went directly to that page. If you had been looking for a lwr back exercise and entered that way you would not have reached that page as it was only linked to from the hamstring page. Reading the fine print you might have noticed that the targets was hamstring but there was no link from either variant to the other, or any explanation of the difference between the exercises or even that another variant existed. I find in general that there is a lack of information on appropriate application of different variations.

Not to be completely negative about the database, it is the feature that first brought me to ExRx and was invaluable throughout my lifting in recent years. It's too bad I was born too early as it wasn't around when I was in my 20s but neither was Al Gore*. James should be commended on this fabulous resource that he has provided.

*I was going to say that the internet wasn't around when I was in my 20s but in fact it was. It was just very different then and Al Gore hadn't "invented" it yet.

Dr. Squats not the administrator.
It was meant to be a joke, not to be taken in a literal sense.

The link for Dr Squat's forum is dead, anyone know where this criticism of the good morning is?

He does comment on it here though

It looks like they've removed the old comments.

The original comment is probably irrelevant now. Exrx has updated many of their pictures. Good Mornings are now presented as: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Ere ... rning.html

This was put up since this thread was active and it looks like it addresses the original criticism. Even the version listed under hamstrings had a flatter back.
